Diego Godin Will Join Up With New Inter Teammates For Asian Tour

Diego Godin will begin life as an Inter player when the Nerazzurri head out to Asia for their preseason tour, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Uruguayan international’s arrival was officially announced yesterday morning, but he will now take a holiday after the Celeste’s run to the Copa America quarter-finals.

Inter will play Manchester United in Singapore on 20 July before meeting arch rivals Juventus in Nanjing four days later.

Antonio Conte’s side will then face Paris Saint-Germain in Macau on 27 July, with a further friendly scheduled against Tottenham in London the following week.

Godin joins the club on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid and has signed a three-year deal.

The 33-year-old has chosen the no. 2 shirt, which was worn by his former Atletico teammate Sime Vrsaljko during the first half of last season.

Club legends Beppe Bergomi and Ivan Cordoba have also worn the same number in the past.
