Antonio Conte is concerned Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan could create unrest within Inter’s dressing room if they stay, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Both players are considered surplus to requirements by the Nerazzurri’s head coach, who wanted the pair to be sold before the start of preseason training next week.
Inter have not received any offers for Icardi while Nainggolan cannot be sold on the cheap if the club want to avoid making a net loss.
“Conte believes the dressing room would become more united, well-performing and manageable without them there,” Gazzetta reported this morning.
Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara are offering ‘passive resistance’ to Inter’s desire to sell them at the moment, having just returned from their holidays in Japan and Polynesia.
Wanda could have met Beppe Marotta this week but flew off to Sardinia on Sunday, amid reports Inter are accelerating their pursuit for Romelu Lukaku.
“It’s as if Wanda is saying: ‘Our meeting can wait, if indeed we really need one to discuss a situation where everyone’s position has been clear for a while’,” Gazzetta concluded.
