Inter Inching Closer To Deals For Romelu Lukaku & Nicolò Barella

Inter are edging closer to completing deals for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Cagliari midfielder Nicolò Barella, according to Sport Mediaset.

The Nerazzurri are pursuing two difficult transfer targets while having to cope with Mauro Icardi’s refusal to leave the club.

Bit by bit, however, Lukaku and Barella are coming into focus and chief executive Beppe Marotta will soon make decisive moves for both.

United are expected to make a backwards step from their €80 million asking price for Lukaku, settling for €70 million with payment coming in installments.

Cagliari owner Tommaso Giulini, meanwhile, gave Barella two days to make a decision on his future and the 22-year-old has confirmed his desire to join Inter.

Marotta hopes to conclude a deal for the Italy international in the coming days, although he has made it clear he does not want to get involved in bidding wars.

Inter begin preseason training in Switzerland on Monday and Antonio Conte is hoping the club can make another signing before then.
