Inter’s Chinese Transfer Summit Could Lead To Breakthrough With Man Utd In Lukaku Talks

Antonio Conte will try and convince Inter to accelerate their pursuit for Romelu Lukaku when the Nerazzurri hold a transfer summit on Monday, according to Tuttosport.

Inter are preparing an offer worth €60 million plus €15 million in bonuses for Manchester United, who still want €88 million to sell the striker.

Mauro Icardi’s departure would help finance a deal but Inter will attempt to secure Lukaku regardless of their former captain’s movements.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio will fly to China tomorrow and join Conte, Steven Zhang and Zhang Jindong for a meeting in Suning’s home city of Nanjing.

Monday’s meeting could persuade Zhang to give Inter an ‘extra-budget’ for their Lukaku talks, with reports in England suggesting they have already offered United €83 million.

At the moment this remains a remote possibility, but Conte’s powers of persuasion may make a difference.

Edin Dzeko remains equally distant from a move to Inter at present, as Roma continue to hold out for €20 million.

Inter have bid just €12 million for now but Marotta could look to raise that figure when he returns from Asia next week.

Edinson Cavani, Duvan Zapata, Ante Rebic, Rodrigo and Rafael Leao remain the most credible ‘Plan B’ options should neither Dzeko nor Lukaku arrive.
