Inter Forward Candreva Staying Confident Despite Man Utd Defeat

Antonio Candreva focused on the positives from Inter’s performance after they lost 1-0 to Manchester United in Singapore.

Mason Greenwood’s second-half strike condemned Antonio Conte’s side to defeat in their International Champions Cup opener, which the Nerazzurri played without first-choice forwards.

Candreva reminded Inter TV how United were further ahead in their preseason preparations, describing the match as ‘a nice test’.

“There’s always something to improve and we’re here to do that,” the forward said.

“We don’t have many days of training in our legs and they’ve been tough sessions, but we need to get used to fighting in adversity.

“We had our own chances as well in this match and with a bit more composure we could have done more today. We got stretched towards the end because we were fatigued.

“We’ll now look over the things we need to improve and correct. We all need to work to ensure we’re ready when the season starts, but we made some forward steps here.”

Candreva started the match at right wing-back and played 83 minutes at the National Stadium in Kallang.
