Radja Nainggolan today warned Inter he was determined to prove them wrong after they loaned him to Cagliari.
Antonio Conte wanted nothing to do with the Ninja this season and forced the midfielder to return to Sardinia.
Nainggolan scored seven goals in his debut campaign with Inter but will now face the Nerazzurri on week two of the new season.
“I’m fired up after how things ended with Inter,” he told reporters at his introductory press conference.
“They took a decision which I accept, but now it’s up to me to prove they made a mistake in letting me go. These things can happen in the world of football.
“I think I have a lot to give but I’m not going to get into details. We reached an objective in qualifying for the Champions League, but now I’m happy to be here.”
Nainggolan also had words of encouragement for Nicolo Barella, who recently moved in the opposite direction.
He added: “I met him as a young lad and you could see he was a nice player.
“I tried to help him settle in during our short time together at Inter. He can still improve a lot.”
