Inter & Juventus Locked In ‘War Of Nerves’ Over Icardi-Dybala Swap Deal

Inter are locked in a ‘war of nerves’ with Juventus over a potential swap deal involving Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala, according to Tuttosport.

Beppe Marotta is struggling to tie up a deal for Icardi with either Napoli or Roma because the striker is waiting for the Bianconeri.

Dybala’s future is causing Fabio Paratici a similar headache, however, with Paris Saint-Germain poised to withdraw their interest as they close a cash-plus-player exchange deal with Barcelona for Neymar.

“The clubs find themselves in similar positions, which many believe will eventually lead them to arrange the swap,” TS reported this morning.

“Perhaps it will happen towards the end of the transfer window rather than immediately, once Inter and Juventus have reached a crossroads: keep their respective problems in-house or trade them with one another.”

Juventus remain convinced Dybala is worth more than Icardi, following Maurito’s turbulent 2019 and subsequent exclusion from Antonio Conte’s first-team squad.

Inter still want €80 million for their former captain, though, and are looking to do a straight swap without paying any extra fee.

Icardi would generate a capital gain worth around €77.5 million for Inter, should the clubs complete a direct switch, while Dybala could guarantee Juventus €65 million.

TS suggested those were figures which could ‘remove any doubt or fear’ about seeing their player join a direct rival and prove a huge success.
