Jose Mourinho has spoken on the affection he still receives from fans despite it being close to 10 years since he left the club.
“Inter fans are fantastic, they never leave me alone. Wherever I go, there are Nerazzurri fans who show me affection,” he told reporters on the sidelines of last night’s FIFA The Best awards, which were held in Milan.
Mourinho was then asked about how he thinks Inter have done so far this season, with the Nerazzurri currently sitting pretty at the top of the Serie A table having won each of their four league games so far, but was not so keen to discuss it.
“I don’t think it’s a suitable question at the moment. At the moment I am thinking about the award ceremony. I am here out of respect for my colleagues in football. I know what it means to win and I am happy to be here with them to participate in this particular moment.”
