Inter’s Italian international defender Danilo D’Ambrosio shared his delight at how his teammates and himself have grown in recent months and is confident of the Nerazzurri’s chances against Juventus on Sunday.
“There’s a development process, we’re looking to put all of the coach’s instructions into practice. At the moment, following the Barcelona game, there is anger and disappointment at not winning which we always want to do,” he said in an interview with Inter’s official club website.
Next he spoke on this weekend’s Derby D’Italia.
“We always look to get the best result so that we don’t have any regrets. Juventus have eleven high quality players. Ronaldo is the star but there’s a team behind him that allows him to express himself at his best.
“We can take them on because I focus on our work, our coach and our strengths. Juventus and Napoli have been more used to winning in recent years and this is the gap that exists between us.”
He then spoke about the impact on the team new coach Antonio Conte has had since being appointed this past June.
“Conte has amazed me with his way of working, the way he prepares for matches, how he has us train and how he involves all the players in the squad. He is absolutely an extra asset for us.”
He then spoke on some of his teammates.
“Lukaku is a different players from the other players that we have in the team, he is a strong player and is a player who manages to do well even in difficult situations.
“Sensi and Barella are two players who are part of the Italian national team and we certainly did well to sign them. Sensi has surprised me because I didn’t know that he was as good as he has been so far.”
He concluded by discussing his personal ambitions and the teams ambitions.
“I’m someone who looks to surprise people by working at my best every day, I don’t care about what happened before but I want to do something in the present and I’m looking to work so that I can. As a team, we’re going through a process of growth in order to win as many games as possible and our aim now is to get the three points.”
