Inter striker Romelu Lukaku will start tonight in place of the suspended Alexis Sanchez, according to Milano based newspaper la Gazzetta dello Sport, after his performances in key training sessions this morning.
The former Manchester United forward was forced to miss the Nerazzurri’s trip to the Camp Nou to face Barcelona in the Champions League earlier this week due to muscle fatigue, but reportedly the Nerazzurri staff are satisfied with his performances in training sessions completed yesterday and today and trust his fitness levels.
The 26-year-old Belgian striker will start alongside 22-year-old Argentinian forward Lautaro Martinez, who’s goal against the Blaugrana earlier this week was one of the few highlights in their 2-1 defeat.
31-year-old Italian Danilo D’Ambrosio is also set to start, replacing Antonio Candreva on the right side of midfield, a system tested against Lazio last month to great success, with the player scoring the only goal in the 1-0 victory.
Inter starlet Sebastiano Esposito will be on the bench for the Nerazzurri tonight, his first appearance on the Nerazzurri bench since their 2-1 victory over Cagliari at the start of last month.
