In today’s paper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Roman newspaper have taken a look at Matias Vecino’s current situation at Inter.
“Yesterday he returned to Pinetina with fellow countryman Godin after the two games played with Uruguay, two matches in which he was among the best performers and receieved many flattering comments from the media and the national team coach,” the report begins.
“It is Conte’s hope, and that of club management too, that the former Fiorentina player now begins to offer a certain type of performance for the Nerazzurri because, despite the explosion of Barella and Sensi, the Apulian coach expects him to perform better than he has in the first part of the season.
It concludes: “With 7 matches in 21 days, all the players will have to rotate in the middle and in Conte’s mind, Vecino is the first option off of the bench. On paper Vecino has everything to win over the former Chelsea coach: he is a mezzala who is physical and can score goals. He can be a key element in the midfield.”
