Inter’s 2-1 loss to rivals Juventus in the Derby d’Italia before the international break have shown that the Nerazzurri will need to work incredibly hard to close the gap with the Bianconeri, despite being only one point behind in the league table, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri showed the Nerazzurri that a lot of work must be done still to close the gap, a difficult challenge considering the key Inter players lost to injury.
Without midfielder Stefano Sensi, full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio and forward Alexis Sanchez, coach Antonio Conte will have to force victories even out of games where Inter are playing poorly, holding on until the injured players have recovered or new arrivals can reinforce the team in January.
Games against teams such as Sassuolo tomorrow or Parma next week are the types of games that Inter will have to win no matter the quality of their performance.
