In today’s print edition of the newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport have praised Antonio Conte for leading Inter to a crucial 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage last night.
“In the space of three days Antonio Conte has put a stop to the return of “Pazza Inter” and has won a key match in the Champions League,” the report in the Milanese newspaper begins.
“It was a performance made of, rationality, concentration, sacrifice and tactical lucidity. He contained Borussia Dortmund and struck against them at the right time.
“There are similarities in this victory to those Conte’s Italy managed over Belgium and Spain in terms of the spirit shown and the result itself with all of them finishing 2-0. These result are no coincidences but rather repetition of his excellent work.”
It concludes: “He showed courage to take off Romelu Lukaku in a still open game and put on a 17-year-old boy in Sebastiano Esposito, who won a penalty and enchanted San Siro.”
