San Siro Could Remain In Use For Women’s & Youth Games When Inter & AC Milan Leave

In today’s paper edition, Corriere della Sera have looked at a possible way San Siro stadium could be renovated once Inter and AC Milan leave it.

The two Milanese clubs presented plans to leave San Siro in favour of building a new state-of-the-art stadium to the public last month.

The clubs have made it clear that they intended to demolish San Siro, which has been around for close to 100 years now, as part of their new stadium project but have faced strict opposition, particularly from Milanese councillors and locals who do not want to see the stadium torn down.

As a result, Milan based news outlet Corriere della Sera state that, the third tier of the 80,018 capacity San Siro could be demolished and the pitch raised in line with the second tier so that the stadium could be used for the two clubs’ women’s and youth teams in the future.
