Maurizio Viscidi, the coorindator of the Italian youth national teams, has spoken on Sebastiano Esposito’s absence from the Italy under 17 squad for the World Cup as part of an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
“Without him we certainly miss a lot. Inter did not allow us to bring Esposito with us because he is part of their first team and for this reason, he is not here with us,” he said.
“We have a great relationship with Inter and if it had not been for Alexis Sanchez’s injury, Esposito would have been with us and I wish to take this opportunity to say that there was no controversy at all, Inter was very good with us and acted in line with FIFA regulations.”
Esposito has appeared in each of Inter’s past two games from the substitutes bench and has given a good account of himself and shown no real signs of struggle despite only being 17.
