Inter captain Samir Handanovic spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 victory over Bologna tonight.
“It was a game where we managed to turn the result around. It was a fundamental match after all these commitments, winning gives us confidence and morale. Today we prepared for the game and played as we wanted.”
“Not all games are the same, there are also scrappy ones where you have to put everything else aside, not only the good plays but also the tenacity to win. It could be the beginning of a path. A season with higher ambitions? We have to decide for ourselves on the pitch. You have to keep your feet on the ground, correcting mistakes and going step by step.”
The Nerazzurri’s victory over the Rossoblu sees them rise to the top of the league table after 11 games, two points ahead over rivals Juventus.
If the Bianconeri suffer a draw or loss against Torino tonight then Inter will remain at the top of the league table.
