Former Anderlecht Manager Jacobs: “Lukaku’s Transfer To Inter Has Been A Success”

In an interview with Belgian broadcaster VRT, Romelu Lukaku’s former Anderlecht manager Ariel Jacobs has revealed that the 26-year-old could have ended up at Bayern Munich.

“After the 2018 World Cup in Russia, I had a rather long conversation with him. Reading between the lines, I could conclude that after Manchester United, Bayern Munich would be his next club if Roberto Lewandowski were to leave,” he began.

Jacobs then went on to discuss the early success that his former prodigy has had since swapping the Premier League side for Inter in a club record €65 million transfer.

“You can say that Lukaku’s transfer to Inter has been a successful change. He left England with doubts about him and in Italy he wanted to show off his better side again.”

Lukaku has made 14 appearances across all competitions since his arrival and although yet to score in the Champions League, he has had no problems in scoring domestically with him having scored an impressive nine in 11 games.
