Inter Midfielder Sensi Has Raised The Level Of Brozovic, De Vrij & Lukaku

Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has raised the level of his Nerazzurri teammates, in particular Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij and Romelu Lukaku, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sensi and Brozovic have shared 167 passes to each other in only seven league games, the report details. An average of almost 24 passes per game, in both directions, showing the strong midfield partnership already forming between the two players. This partnership is key for Inter coach Antonio Conte and his game plan with the Nerazzurri, the report suggests.

Furthermore, the inclusion of Sensi in the squad allows defender Stefan de Vrij to focus more on his defensive duties, rather than his current role as a back-up play maker, following the tougher marking being applied to Brozovic. Due to the increased pressure placed on the 27-year-old Croatian, de Vrij has started to play a more offensive role in order to supply balls to the forward line, but the return of Sensi would allow the Dutch defender to play deeper again, like the start of the season, the report adds.

Finally, Sensi’s partnership with striker Romelu Lukaku has been important for both players, the report highlights. The 26-year-old Belgian striker has received 16 passes from Sensi so far this season, with the speed and accuracy of the passes allowing the former Manchester United forward to find the space that he works so well in.
