Antonio Conte believes that he can lead Inter to Serie A title glory in his first year in charge of the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Conte currently has Inter sitting top of the pile after 16 games played with 39 points from a possible 48 picked up. Inter are currently edging arch-rivals Juventus, who also have 39 points, due to having a superior goal difference.
In order for Conte’s belief to become a reality, Inter will need to act on the transfer market and bring in some reinforcements, the report continues.
Conte would like a new left wing back brought in due to Kwadwo Asamoah’s injury problems as of late. There is a deal in place with Parma over Matteo Darmian whilst Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso is also understood to be a player that the Nerazzurri are courting.
A new midfielder is also on the former Italian national team manager’s wish list. There has been no shortage of links to midfielders with Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal, Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul, Atalanta’s Dejan Kulusevski, River Plate’s Cristian Ferreira and most recently Benfica’s Gedson Fernandes.
