Italian Report Claims Inter Will Gift Antonio Conte At Least Two New Players This January

Inter are set to sign a midfielder, a left back and potentially a striker in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Libero.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen the squad in the upcoming January transfer window, due to a lack of options on the bench. The Nerazzurri have been experiencing a slight injury crisis for the majority of the season, with star players such as Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi out injured.

Therefore, Conte is hoping to sign more reliable backup for the midfield, to provide more rotational opportunities.

Other roles that the 50-year-old Italian coach wants to strengthen are the left back and forward roles, the report highlights.

It seems likely that Inter will send Matteo Politano to Napoli on loan in exchange for Fernando Llorente in January, finally giving Conte reliable backup for Romelu Lukaku. Finally, a new left back is needed to provide an alternative to either Kwadwo Asamoah or Cristiano Biraghi.
