Inter could use out-of-favour Matteo Politano to help them get preferential treatment for Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Fiorentina had taken a keen interest in signing Politano back in the Summer but Inter manager Antonio Conte blocked the 26-year-old from departing due to wanting to take a closer look at him as he wished to get to grips with the squad he had inherited.
Politano has struggled for game time this season with him having been limited to just two starts and the Nerazzurri are seemingly open to dealing him away if the right offer arrives.
Inter could offer him to La Viola in some shape or form to get closer to 22-year-old Castrovilli, who has been one of the best performing midfielders in Serie A this season and looks set to have a bright future ahead of him.
