Inter captain and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is to make his long awaited return to action in Inter’s upcoming Serie A clash against Juventus according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 35-year-old Slovenian shot-stopper has missed Inter’s past six matches as a result of a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand but has now fully recovered and is in a position to return to action.
Handanovic will come in in place of Daniele Padelli, who has deputised for him in the half dozen games he has missed out upon in the past month or so across all competitions.
Handanovic’s return will come as a welcome boost to all involved at Inter ahead of the Derby D’Italia match-up against their great rivals.
This season Handanovic has made 29 appearances across all competitions, in which he has conceded 29 goals and kept a total of eight clean sheets.
