Barcelona remain optimistic about their chances of signing Lautaro Martinez in the upcoming Summer transfer window despite other clubs having an interest in signing him according to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport.
The reigning Spanish champions have been in talks with the player for months now over a move and are convinced that he is wanting to make the move and further his career.
The global Coronavirus pandemic has however slowed things down a bit as this month was supposed to be an important one for negotiations.
Manchester City and Chelsea are both understood to be keen on signing the 22-year-old striker but the report goes on to state that playing in the Premier League is not a priority for the youngster, who is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Inter will respect whatever decision Lautaro makes and if he decides to leave the club, the club will not accept anything less than €111 million, the value of the release clause in his contract.
Barcelona, as per the report, have other ideas and could offer Inter a cash sum plus some players such as Arturo Vidal, a player who was strongly linked to Inter in the recent January transfer window.
