Inter Defender de Vrij: “We’ll Think About Playing Again When The Time Is Right”

Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has admitted that Inter manager Antonio Conte and the Inter coaching staff are keeping a close eye on him and his teammates during the current period.

All of Italy is currently in lock down in a bid to try and contain and prevent the spread of Coronavirus and as a result Inter are not playing matches nor are they able to be at the club’s Angelo Moratti Sports Centre training ground.

The players, as per various reports, have all been given individual plans to follow both in terms of fitness plans as well as nutritional plans.

Many players have posted photos and videos of themselves working from home on things like exercise bikes and the nutritional plan is being helped by the fact all the players are getting pre-prepared meals delivered to them by the club nutirionist.

“The coach always tries to stay close to us even in this period, he is in contact us all even if not physically but through messages,” he remarked in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV earlier on today.

“His staff also try to stay in touch with us. There is more activity on group chat. We are a close group and I think we will return as we were before.”

He then spoke on Coronavirus and how the club have been looking after the players.

“It is always a fight that we try to win, as we do in football we can be united as a team in this too. Inter’s professionalism is high, they are delivering food to us and bikes.

“In my opinion it is not the time to talk about football though, we have always played one game at a time and now we we are playing another one that we are trying to win. We will think about playing again when the time is right.”
