In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper have analysed the differing form of Inter’s main strike force of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez since the 2019/20 season got back underway.
Lukaku has continued to be a leader for Inter in the post-lockdown fixtures and put the team on his back at times whilst Lautaro has found himself in limbo. Whilst still physically in Milan, mentally he seems to be elsewhere due to the persistent transfer rumours doing the rouns in the media.
The Argentine has been linked with Barcelona for a long time and Manchester City recently sparked an interest in signing him and this has definitely had an impact on him and his performances.
This season Lukaku and Lautaro have combined for 45 goals. Lukaku has scored 27 goals across all competitions and with one more goal he will set a new personal record for goals scored in a single season. Lautaro has meanwhile netted 18 goals across all competitions but just two of those goals have come since the season resumed.
