Inter manager Antonio Conte would be enormously annoyed if he fails to win a trophy in his first season at Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.
Winning the Europa League is the last realistic chance Inter have at a trophy this season. Although a Serie A title win is still mathematically possible, it would take a minor miracle for Inter and a huge collapse from Juventus to allow it to happen.
Inter are due to face Getafe in a one off match in the Europa League last 16 at the beginning of next month and if they get past them they will face either Bayer Leverkusen or Rangers in the quarter finals.
Shakhtar Donetsk, Wolfsburg, Basel and Eintracht Frankfurt are all possible opponents they could come up against in the semi final stage.
They could meanwhile meet one of Roma, Sevilla, Wolves, Olympiakos, Man Utd, LASK Linz, Copenhagen or Istanbul Basaksehir in the final.
The report concludes that at the end of the season Conte and club management will evaluate things and look ahead to the future where they both want to win.
