Brescia President Cellino Confirms Inter Target Sandro Tonali To Be Sold: “I Made Him A Promise”

Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino has insisted that he will honour the promise he made to midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Cellino promised to sell the highly rated Italian national team midfielder, who has been linked with potential moves to Inter, Juventus and a whole array of other clubs for some time now.

“I made a promise to Sandro and I intend to keep it. It is a commitment that I made with the boy, I can’t penalise him,” Cellino remarked in an interview with Corriere di Brescia, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He then went on to share his belief that Tonali was under too much pressure following the resumption of the season and confirmed he will not be selling anyone else ahead of their return to Serie B.

“He has pulled the cart for two years, he had muscle problems before the lock down, When the season resumed there was too much pressure on his shoulders The others will remain. I’m sorry, but I’m not selling anyone.”

20-year-old Tonali is widely regarded as one of the best Italian prospects out there at the moment and is under contract with La Rondinelle until the end of the 2021/22 season.

This season Tonali has made 33 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just over 2800 minutes, he has scored one goal and provided six assists for his teammates.
