Inter president Steven Zhang has given a mandate to Inter vice president Javier Zanetti to convince Lionel Messi to join the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.
Inter have been linked with a potential move for the Barcelona and Argentine national team superstar and this report would suggest that Inter are seriously thinking about trying to bring him to the club.
Inter’s owners Suning are not in the slightest bit phased by the salary it would take to bring the 33-year-old multi-time world player of the year to the club either.
Messi’s salary will cost €260 million gross over a four year period and the report goes on to explain that it is fundamental that Messi opts to leave Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of the upcoming season.
This season Messi has made 42 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 30 goals and provided 26 assists for his teammates.
