Inter’s 2-0 win over Atalanta yesterday was emblematic of their strong season under coach Antonio Conte, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri finished the 2019/20 Serie A season in second place with 82 points, only one point behind rivals and winners Juventus.
Coach Antonio Conte has worked hard since arriving last summer and their incredible performance against an Atalanta side who hadn’t lost since the 20th January was an example of their growth.
Even when the side were 2-0 up, Conte continued to press the team and asked them to attack, the report continues, because he doesn’t want the team to get complacent and begin sitting back and defending.
The Nerazzurri looked more like a Conte squad in yesterday’s win and this summer’s signings will only further strengthen the squad. Despite the strong performance, the 51-year-old Italian coach still complained in the media about the club and how they hadn’t protected the squad or the coach in the press.
