Inter wing back Ashley Young discussed the Nerazzurri’s impressive 2-0 win over Atalanta yesterday evening in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV after the game.
“We wanted to win the game from the beginning, starting strong with D’Ambrosio and at the end we managed to bring home the three points.”
The 35-year-old Englishman touched on how his performances with Inter are still improving, despite his age.
“No secret, just training the right way.”
Finally, Young discussed whether Serie A was like he expected and the game against the Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta.
“Serie A is different from the Premier League, it’s much more tactical. I had fun tonight, too. The most important thing was to bring home the three points.”
Young has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Nerazzurri, since arriving from Manchester United in the January transfer window, for a total of 1356 minutes.
In that time, he has scored four goals and provided four assists, impressing coach Antonio Conte and becoming a regular part of the squad.
Inter finished the 2019/20 Serie A season in second place with 82 points, only one point behind rivals and season winners Juventus. The Nerazzurri’s next challenge is against Spanish side Getafe next week in the Europa League, in a single legged game that will be played in a neutral venue in Germany.
