It is possible that Inter and Inter manager Antonio Conte could soon go their separate ways according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Following Inter’s 2-0 win over Atalanta on the final day of the season, rather than celebrate a good first season together, there is an internal crisis taking place at Inter.
“This is a tear that goes beyond the usual Contian exits. The Nerazzurri management, with the CEO Beppe Marotta in the lead, has always known that it can be difficult to manage Antonio,” the report from the Milan based news outlet explains..
“The club’s management did not like Antonio’s departure from the tracks, the tension in the relationship with the coach is very high, and even in the locker room there are those who have not understood the outburst.
“Inter achieved a second place finish after the big game in Bergamo but that ended up around the corner, hidden by controversy. Have we reached the point where the club says ‘enough is enough’? More or less yes, also because for some weeks the relations seemed cold.”
The report goes on to suggest that Conte could even return to Juventus if he is sacked/he and Inter agree to mutual termination.
Conte will meet with Inter president Steven Zhang, who has been stuck in his native China for the last four months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and everything will become clearer after this meeting.
The report goes on to add that former Juventus Max Allegri could take over at Inter and taking charge at Inter could be the perfect opportunity for him seeing as he wishes to keep managing in Italy. Replacing Conte at Inter would enable him to return at a high level.
