Italian Media Underline Only Way Antonio Conte Leaves Inter Is If He Resigns – Wont Be Sacked

The only way that Inter and Antonio Conte will go their separate ways is if Conte resigns according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter have absolutely no intention of sacking Conte for economic reasons, despite the recent tensions that have been created following the former Italian national team boss’ latest outburst following the 2-0 win over Atalanta at the weekend.

People close to Conte have ruled out the idea of him resigning from his post at Inter but the report insists that in football nothing is impossible.

The report goes on to explain that Inter president Steven Zhang does not wish to give Conte carte blanche and would prefer to leave the management of the club to chief executive’s Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and Alessandro Antonello.

Conte wants a direct relationship with Zhang due to feeling that he has not had enough protection from the club, even if the club feel differently about this.

Marotta and management could demand that Conte shows more respect to those working at the club and it is possible that peace could be restored.

The alternative to this is for Conte to resign. Leaving by mutual termination, as he did when he left Juventus, is impossible but the report concludes that when it comes to Inter nothing is impossible.
