It is unclear whether Antonio Conte is sending a signal to the player himself or the club when it comes to his treatment of Christian Eriksen according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Since Eriksen joined the club in a circa €20 million deal from Tottenham Hotspur back in the January transfer window, he has not played anywhere near as much as expected and nor has he performed to expectations either.
The report state that it is clear that Inter can do without the Danish national team player, who has found himself in and out of the team and not had as many chances as he would have perhaps expected to convince Conte that he should be a regular in the starting line-up.
The former Ajax player, who is under contract with the club until 2024, has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and tallied as many assists.
