Inter president Steven Zhang could return to Italy in the coming days according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Zhang has been stuck in his native China for several months due to the global COVID-19 pandemic but hopes to be able to get the green light to be able to return to Europe shortly.
Upon his return to the city of Milan, Zhang will meet with Inter manager Antonio Conte face-to-face to discuss the currently tense situation at the club.
After another public outburst following the win over Atalanta, Conte’s future as Inter manager has been thrown right up in the air.
It is understood that Conte wants several players brought to the club in the transfer window, a direct line to president Zhang and wants to be listened to more when it comes to choosing players and in aspects relating to the club.
The report goes on to explain that it is difficult to foresee Zhang accepting all that Conte wants and it will then be up to Conte to decide whether he resigns from his post or if he carries on unsatisfied.
