A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Libero analysed what a possible Inter squad under the guidance of coach Massimiliano Allegri would look like, should Antonio Conte be replaced by the 53-year-old Italian.
The report details how Allegri would immediately look to consistently integrate Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen into the midfield, making him a vital part of the team. He would play the 28-year-old behind the striking partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, with Alexis Sanchez and Edin Dzeko the backups for that department.
The defense would be changed to a back four, the report continues, and Allegri could look to rotate the central defenders of Diego Godin, Stefan De Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni. With a switch to a back-four full backs would be needed, with Achraf Hakimi and Emerson Palmieri set to fill the roles, with Danilo D’Ambrosio and Cristiano Biraghi providing backup, as well as Ashley Young.
Antonio Candreva would be sold and Victor Moses wouldn’t be signed, the report highlights, and Sandro Tonali would also be another key part of the midfield. The player who could be sold to make further investments in the squad would be Marcelo Brozovic, with Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi both set to remain important cogs in the machine as well. Radja Nainggolan could also return.
