Sevilla and Benfica are both interested in signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
The Portuguese national team player is not part of Inter’s plans and it is possible that Inter could once again let him leave on loan with an option to buy attached, just like they did for the 2019/20 season which he spent with Lokomotiv Moscow.
Sevilla are interested in the former Sporting CP player and see him as a potential replacement for Ever Banega, who is departing the club for Al Shabab.
As for Benfica, manager Jorge Jesus is keen to work with Joao Mario again having worked with him previously at Sporting CP.
Joao Mario currently has a value of €13.6 million against Inter’s books therefore the report suggests he could be allowed to leave the club on loan with an option to buy perhaps set at €14 million.
Joao Mario joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 but has ultimately failed to live up to expectations. In 69 appearances for the club, he has scored four goals and tallied 13 assists.
