Nerazzurri Treble Hero Diego Milito: “I Know Barcelona Want Lautaro Martinez But He’s Very Happy At Inter”

Legendary former Inter striker and current Racing Club sporting director Diego Milito has addressed the ongoing media speculation linking former Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez with a move from Inter to Barcelona.

Barcelona have been linked with making a move for the 23-year-old Argentine national team forward for a long time now and have reportedly already got an agreement in principle over personal terms with the player.

Despite this agreement, there is still no agreement between the two clubs with Barcelona having been unable to meet Inter’s asking price for him so far.

“I know Barcelona want Lautaro, but he is very well at Inter,” he explained in an interview with Argentine radio station Radio Del Plate show ‘De Lado A Lado’ yesterday afternoon.

“He had  a great season, reached the Europa League final and they love him very much. Beyond what Racing could earn, it is important that he continues to grow.”

During the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Lautaro, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, made 49 appearances across all comptitions. In his time on the park, which totalled just under 3600 minutes, he scored 21 goals and provided his teammates with a total of seven assists.
