Signing Joao Mario from Inter is not in the plans of Sevilla according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
The report claims that an internal source at the Spanish club has confirmed to them that the Portuguese midfielder is not on their radar and sporting director Monchi has in fact identified other players to Joao Mario as he looks to find a replacement for the departing Ever Banega.
Sevilla are looking for players with a better quality to price ratio than that of the former Sporting CP player, who has failed to live up to expectations in his four years with Inter.
The report concludes that whilst Joao Mario may have been proposed to Sevilla and his desire to play in La Liga remains, a move to Sevilla is not currently a viable move.
Since joining Inter in 2016, Joao Mario has made 69 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored four goals and provided 13 assists for his teammates.
