Lionel Messi’s father Jorge Messi is due to meet with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu this coming Wednesday in order to discuss his son’s future according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Messi’s father is seeking to secure his son an amicable exit from the club whilst Bartomeu does not wish to consider any form of departure and wishes to talk about a possible contract renewal for Messi, who rocked the footballing world recently by sharing his desire to leave the club via burofax.
The multi-time world player of the year has drawn links to Manchester City, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks and it has been widely reported that Messi wishes to use the clause that will enable him to leave Barcelona for free but Barcelona are adamant that the deadline for the clause to be activated passed a few months ago.
