Arturo Vidal is close to freeing himself from Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Chilean national team player has reached an agreement in principle over personal terms with Inter on the basis of a two year deal worth €6 million a year, with an option to a third year.
Vidal is currently in talks with Barcelona regarding terminating his contract with them and Vidal is understood to be reluctant to give up the €8 million at stake.
Barcelona are meanwhile well aware of the interest in Vidal and are hoping to be able to sell him rather than let him go for nothing. Despite this, the parties are getting closer and solution should be reached which will allow Vidal to leave for free.
The report goes on to explain that Inter have no desire to hold any negotiations with Barcelona and are waiting for Vidal to free himself so they can repeat what they did with Alexis Sanchez, who freed himself from Manchester United before joining Inter on a free transfer.
