Matteo Darmian will join Inter once they make a sale according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
After the combined investment of €65 million to sign Achraf Hakimi and Stefano Sensi, Suning have told Inter management that they must self-finance on the transfer market in order to keep the books balanced.
Everything is already in place and versatile defender Darmian will arrive at Inter in a €5 million deal from fellow Serie A club Parma in what will be another low-cost deal carried out by the Nerazzurri, who are on the brink of bringing in Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal on the cheap too.
Darmian could prove to be a real wildcard for Inter due to his ability to play across the entire defensive line and has plenty of experience, with over 300 appearances to his name.
Last season the former Manchester United player made 34 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored one goal and provided a single assist.
