Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is close to leaving Barcelona to join Inter after agreeing to give up on the last year of his salary, although it’s still unclear whether the Nerazzurri will have to pay a small compensation fee or not, according to a report from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo earlier today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Chilean’s agent has been in talks with the Catalan side for some time now in order to negotiate an early exit from the club, where he has been told he is no longer needed for the project.

The player has given up in his quest for the last year of his salary and instead will receive only what is owed to him until today.

Vidal will sign a two-year contract with Inter, the report continues, and now it remains to be seen if the player will join the Milanese side on a free transfer or if the Nerazzurri will have to pay a small compensation fee, similar to what happened regarding Sevilla and Ivan Rakitic.
