The sale of Inter defender Milan Skriniar to Tottenham could unblock the Nerazzurri’s attempts to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The report details how the Milanese club are missing a strong player in midfield like the 29-year-old Frenchman, and so could still look to acquire the player before the closure of the transfer window in the first week of October.
The 25-year-old Skriniar has been followed by Jose Mourinho’s Spurs for some time now and could be sold to the North London club for around €45 million, paving the way for Inter to sign Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.
The top replacement for Skriniar would be Manchester United’s Chris Smalling, the report continues, as Roma still have not managed to finalise a deal for the 30-year-old Englishman, who impressed last season on loan with the Roman club.
