Inter Matchwinner Danilo D’Ambrosio: “More Than Pazza It Was An Inter Wanting To Win At All Costs”

Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio discussed the Nerazzurri’s thrilling 4-3 win over Fiorentina and his goal in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN after the game.

“Winning is always important, it is normal that we do everything that we have to without suffering, but we were unable to.

“It was bad, we did not close out the game, but this team have shown that they want to win and have some players that can make a difference.”

The Italian touched on his high work rate and goal scoring ability.

“I like to put the coach in trouble in regard to squad choice and I give 100%. I don’t try to score that much, but if I can do it I’m happy.”

He did not want to discuss the league title, instead focusing on the club’s growth.

“We do not talk about it, it’s a growth process, we want to improve, we want to do better than last year.”

Finally, D’Ambrosio spoke about whether there was a little ‘Crazy Inter’ in tonight’s performance.

“More than pazza [Italian for crazy], it was an Inter team that wanted to win at all costs.”

The 32-year-old Italian defender, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until the end of the season, started the game for coach Antonio Conte’s squad, due to the disqualification of Dutch defender Stefan De Vrij and the decision not to start Milan Skriniar.

Conte’s squad choices paid off, with D’Ambrosio scoring the winning goal for the Milanese club in the 89th minute, scoring a header after receiving a pinpoint accurate cross from Alexis Sanchez.

The Nerazzurri’s next game is against Benevento on Wednesday evening, before they face Lazio next weekend.
