Genoa are close to closing out a deal for Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Rossoblu are waiting for the final confirmations before signing the 32-year-old Italian defender, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until the end of the season.
The player did not appear in the Nerazzurri’s thrilling 4-3 comeback win over Fiorentina yesterday and is not considered part of coach Antonio Conte’s project any longer.
The alternative to Ranocchia for Genoa is Napoli’s Sebastiano Luperto, the report continues.
Ranocchia, who has been with Inter since 2011, made 12 appearances across all competitions last season for the Nerazzurri, for a total of 887 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal and helped the side keep six clean sheets.
Inter have been working hard to offload unneeded players this transfer window, with other players like Diego Godin and Antonio Candreva also being sold.
