Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has remained tight lipped when quizzed on the recent transfer media speculation linking the Ligue 1 club with a move for Inter wing-back Dalbert.
Reports in the past few days have stated that the two clubs have agreed a loan with option to buy deal for the out of favour Brazilian with reports stating the total cost of the deal will be €12-13 million, if Rennes take up the option to sign him.
“The priority today is a central defender, with the injury of Faitout Mouassa we could also have the obligation to look for an experienced player on the left and Dalbert is a possibility,” Holveck explained to French broadcaster TeleFoot, a short time ago.
Dalbert, who spent last season on loan at Inter’s fellow Serie A side Fiorentina, joined Inter back in the Summer of 2017 from Ligue 1 outfit Nice in a circa €20 million deal but has never managed to perform to expectations at the San Siro.
The 26-year-old, who is still under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has not featured whatsoever this season for the club in competitive action.
