Inter attacker Alexis Sanchez has admitted that whilst happy, he is also disappointed with the Chilean national team’s 2-2 draw with Colombia last night.
The Chilean national team slipped behind just seven minutes after the game started but Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal scored on the 38th minute and Sanchez then scored on the 41st minute to put Reinaldo Rueda’s side ahead going into the half time interval.
Just as it looked like they were going to record their first win of the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign, Colombia scored in added time which meant the sides both picked up a point.
“I am happy with what we have shown, but there is great disappointment due to their equaliser. In these occasions more experience is needed to bring home the result,” he explained at the end of the match, as reported by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
“We had already conceded goals in added time against Uruguay and this was repeated tonight [last night]. It is a 2-2 result that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, even if the many happy notes should not be forgotten.
“We must continue on this path, but we must accelerate the growth process because time is short. In any case, Colombia has great players, they are a very tough opponent, and for this I am happy with the performance.”
Sanchez joined Inter on a season long loan in the Summer of 2019 and following a successful spell, he joined Inter on a permanent basis ahead of this current season.
The former Barcelona and Arsenal player has made three appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has provided two assists for his teammates.
