Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has revealed that it is thanks to his mother that he has the passion for football that he does.
“The first person to take me to a football field, together with my brother, was my mother. As a child she also played football, then she passed on this great passion of hers,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official match day programme for tomorrow evening’s Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach.
He then went on to reveal how he relaxes himself and what he occupies himself with during his free time when he is not training or playing.
“I choose to listen to Max Pezzali when I want peace of mind, my favourite television series is ‘Gomorra’, I have many friends in the cast. Spiderman also fascinates me. My celebration comes from there.”
The Italian national team player then went on to discuss two important values that have allowed him to have the career in football that he has: “In my life, in the best and worst moments, constancy and humility were decisive.”
He concluded the interview by naming his five a side team of players from Inter’s history: “Julio Cesar in goal for his incredible saves and celebrations, Zanetti in defence because he is captain, a driving force and legend, then Stankovic in the middle, he has pure power, in attack Adriano, who was explosive, classy and strong and Ronaldo, who is a football icon.”
D’Ambrosio joined Inter in January 2014 from fellow Serie A club Torino and is under contract with the club until the end of this season. The 32-year-old has made three appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.
