Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic has shared that he is convinced that he and his Inter teammates will get Inter into the knockout stages of the Champions League, despite drawing their opening group stage game at home to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Inter took the lead in the 49th minute but their lead was short lived as Borussia Monchengladbach equalised through a penalty around the hour mark.
Gladbach then took the lead on the 84th minute but could not see the game out as Romelu Lukaku grabbed his second goal in the final minutes to rescue a draw for the hosts.
“I’m learning every day, I’m working a lot, watching videos and looking at where I made mistakes,” the Croatian national team player explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the match at San Siro.
“When you change roles it is normal not to succeed immediately, I am learning and we have to understand where we went wrong.
“We are learning a lot and I am convinced that in the end we will get past the group stage.”
The 31-year-old, who joined Inter back in 2015 from Wolfsburg, has made five appearances across all competitions to date this term. In his time on the park, which totals 339 minutes, he has provided two assists.
