Legendary Inter central defender Riccardo Ferri has insisted that Inter have to win their next Serie A match that comes away from home at Genoa in order to get themselves back on track.
Inter are without a win in three matches across all competitions and lost their most recent league match, the Derby della Madonnina against city rivals AC Milan, 2-1, last weekend.
Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri side are currently sitting in sixth place in the Serie A standings with seven points to their name after four games played in the league and will be coming up against a Genoa side currently sitting in 11th place.
Inter are currently trailing league leaders AC Milan by five points and depending on their result and other results they could see themselves slide down the table if unable to get the better of Rolando Maran’s side.
“The away match against Genoa is a tricky one, like all the matches at the Ferraris but you have to win to get back on track as the Nerazzurri are in that batch of three or four teams capable of winning the Scudetto,” Ferri explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV ahead of the game.
“The pandemic factor will greatly affect the balance of this season. No one has complained, but both Genoa and Inter, together with Napoli, have undoubtedly suffered from an important number of cases.”
